In 2019 I swore into the position of a fireman for the City of Tempe and the Tempe Fire Medical Rescue Department. I knew the job, responsibilities, and tasks that were going to be asked of me. As I advanced in my career I became a paramedic to have a larger impact on the community members we serve daily on the job within the City of Tempe. 

As a firefighter/paramedic we experience high stress environments where another persons life is in our hands and seconds count. Throughout my four year tenor as a fireman I've experienced countless high stress calls where we rush a patient into the ER/Trauma bay, finish our chart and then get back onto the truck to do it all over again when the time comes. I've never truly found an outlet in my off days to help cope with and grow from the experiences we deal with on the job. Until I began working with AZ IV Medics. 

As cheesy or fake as it may sound I truly have found this line of work therapeutic and helpful in coping with the trauma we see in the world. Walking into someones house, in a stress free environment,  knowing its not a critical patient, performing paramedic skills that I love doing , and ultimately helping a community member is extremely rewarding. This opportunity has played such a strong role in my mental health and clarity as a husband, father, and fireman.
